Reasons for this include the involvement of other specialists and disappointing survival rates. Many believe there is nothing new to learn about resuscitation, as basic techniques have not changed much in the past 40 years. The predictors of survival in cardiac arrest cases are well-known, such as prompt CPR and a shockable rhythm.
