New CPR guidelines save more lives with faster chest compressions.
The new guidelines for pediatric life support focus on basic life support care. They recommend a chest compression/ventilation ratio of 15:2 for trained health professionals, harder and faster chest compressions, and avoiding hyperventilation. High-dose epinephrine is no longer recommended. These guidelines are based on the best available scientific evidence, but more research is needed to confirm these changes and provide further evidence for future guidelines.
