Over half of mothers in Central Ethiopia show good sick child feeding practices
The study looked at how mothers in Wolkite town, Ethiopia feed their sick children under 2 years old. They found that over half of the mothers had good feeding practices. Factors like the mother's education level, support from the father, where the child was delivered, postnatal care, counseling on feeding, and knowledge about feeding were linked to better practices. The study suggests that educating mothers, improving postnatal care, providing feeding counseling, and involving fathers in childcare could help improve feeding practices for sick children in the area.
