Feeding behavior in infants is influenced by the mother-child relationship. A study looked at how a mother's perception of her baby's feeding cues affects her choice of breastfeeding type. They found that mothers who perceived their baby's desire to breastfeed, had time to feed, and had no health problems were more likely to practice exclusive breastfeeding. The study showed that the baby's feeding behavior did not significantly impact the mother's decision on breastfeeding type. The findings suggest that educating mothers on recognizing their baby's cues can help promote exclusive breastfeeding.
