Cryptosporidium infection during pregnancy poses no significant risks to outcomes.
Cryptosporidium infection in pregnant women in Israel was studied to see how it affects pregnancy outcomes. The researchers looked at medical records of 93 pregnant women with Cryptosporidium and compared them to a control group. They found that the infection caused diarrhea but didn't lead to any serious problems for the women or their babies. There were no differences in miscarriage rate, delivery timing, baby weight, Apgar score, or head size between the two groups. Overall, the infection had a positive outcome without needing treatment.
