The WHO emphasizes a positive childbirth experience and the active role of the mother. Research in Serbia shows that certain interventions like epidural anesthesia are recommended by WHO, while others like episiotomy and induction are done routinely but not recommended. The findings suggest a need for better protocols and more humane care during childbirth to ensure safety and respect for women's rights and dignity.
