New study reveals key factors leading to preterm birth risk
Preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) is a serious problem for pregnant women, leading to early birth and risks for the baby. A study in Ethiopia looked at what factors contribute to PPROM. They found that things like high blood pressure during pregnancy, past abortions, previous cesarean sections, small arm size, urinary tract infections, and low iron levels can increase the chances of PPROM. This means that it's important to focus on preventing these issues in pregnant women, especially in rural areas, to reduce the risk of PPROM.
